All things about Microsoft’s next Xbox – Release date, specs and price

By now, the Sony PS4 had been officially released for some time. Many people may still wait for the upcoming Xbox so as to determine which console to buy. When the next Xbox would be released is no doubt a big concern from public. According to the professional analyst Paul Thurrott, Microsoft would announce the next Xbox, commonly known as Xbox 720, codenamed Durango, on May 21^st. It is said that the release event was once scheduled to be held on April 24^th, but delayed to be May 21^st finally. Paul also mentioned the price of the Xbox 720. The device is said to be sold at $500, with a pre-order price of $300. This might be a little bit expensive.

The upcoming Xbox 720 and PS4 rumored to be priced no more than $400

In 2013, many people are expecting for the arrival of June. The annual E3 exhibition in Los Angles always attracts great attention worldwide. It is also the right time that Microsoft and Sony would announce their next-gen game consoles. There’re analysts saying that the upcoming Xbox 720 and PS4 game consoles would be priced between $350 and $400.

GameIndustry.biz talked with analyst Colin Sebastian, analyst of Baird Equity Research, at this year's CES, who indicated that the Xbox 720 and PS4 might be priced between between $350 and $400. Gamesindustry International reported that Sebastian has talked to several different electronic game developing companies to get the conclusion about the price of the upcoming game consoles. He also predicted that the next generation of Xbox would be available in market in November while the PS4 might get street released in October or earlier.

Sebastian also suggested that the next game consoles would adopt the existing PC accessories, including Intel chipset. He mentioned that such design on Xbox 720 would make it more convenient for Microsoft to consolidate the next Xbox, Windows 8 and Windows Phone devices. As for the specs of the next Xbox, Xbox World said that the new Xbox would come with quad-core processor, 8GB RAM and the second generation of Kinect somatosensory.

The upcoming Xbox 720 is rumored to have 1.6GHz CPU

The rumored Xbox 720 has been anticipated for a long time. The latest news from a hacker Marcan42 in this Twitter leaked that the next Microsoft game console code-named Durango (Xbox 720) might only come with a 1.6GHz CPU. The new twit by Marcan42 is about his reply to readers’ questions on his previous twit, which leaked that the Wii U only features 1.2GHz processor and 549MHz graphic chipset.

Marcan42 wrote in his twit, "If you want more evidence that MHz isn't everything, a little birdie points out that Durango (Xbox 720) is specc'ed to have a 1.6GHz CPU.

Food for thought. (And don't bother asking me who that little birdie is.)"

Microsoft has not offered any detailed hardware specs about the next Xbox, thus Marcan42’s information still needs to be confirmed. According to analysis, the existing Xbox 360 adopts 3.2GHz processor with 3 dual-thread physical cores. If Marcan42’s news proved to be true, the next Xbox is greatly to come with more physical cores to provide players with more powerful performance.
