How to get lock screen widgets on the Samsung Galaxy S4

When you first pick up the Samsung Galaxy S4, it might appear that lock screen widgets aren't available. After all, the default lock screen is just a big clock widget with "life companion" or some other message up top. But as an Android 4.2 device, the S4 includes full support for lock screen widgets, it's just a case of enabling them in the phone's lock screen settings.

Head to “Settings > My device > Lock screen” and check "Multiple widgets." Once you've done that, you're able to swipe to the right and add more lock screen panels. There's the standard list of Google widgets as well as some new stuff from Samsung, including a new WatchON widget. This ties into the WatchON app, which is the Peel-powered universal remote included on the Galaxy S4, giving you an expandable universal remote right from your lock screen. Third-party offerings like Dashclock Widget should work just fine, too.

Nokia EOS is surely expected by many people. Now, this new Nokia flagship rumored to have a 41MP camera gets leaked again. Upon the report from WmPowerUser, the Nokia EOS would feature polycarbonate material phone body, camera with xenon flash and auxiliary focus lamp, supporting automatic lens cap, and the same screen size and resolution as Nokia Lumia 920.

Meanwhile, the camera is designed to be round with xenon flashlight. The whole size of the camera, including the flashlight and lens, is smaller than that of Nokia 808PureView. Additionally, just like the Nokia N82, the xenon flashlight is assisted with LED flashlight to realize focusing in dim light.

Google confirmed Google Edition Samsung Galaxy S 4 with Stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS on Google I/O

No doubt, Google I/O conference would be the biggest focus these days. But simply from today’s 3-hour keynote of Google I/O, we have to say that this Google I/O conference is not a conference for hardware. Previously there’re reports and rumors that Google would announce X Phone or next Nexus 4, which now have been proved to be rumors only. The only hardware appearing on Google I/O is so called Google Edition Samsung Galaxy S 4, which is powered by stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, while the current Samsung Galaxy S 4 of the phone which runs Samsung's TouchWiz UI over Android 4.2.2.

It’s reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition will be available next month and will support T-Mobile's bands. We do not know at this point if the phone will be sold in the Google Play Store and what the pricing will be. Previous speculation had a newer version of the Google Nexus 4 being unveiled at Google I/O with 32GB of native storage and 4G LTE connectivity. That phone still might be unwrapped on Wednesday.

Google I/O 2013 is this week. Hard to believe, right? It seems like only a few weeks ago that we were freaking out as the Nexus 7, Nexus Q and Jelly bean (Android 4.1) were all being unveiled through Google Play as we were entering the day 1 keynote of 2012′s I/O. But here we are, almost a year removed from that event and six months out from Google’s cancelled winter event that was supposed to feature the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, new version of Jelly Bean (Android 4.2), and an updated HSPA+ version of the Nexus 7. So as we approach next week, we thought we should drop some of our own predictions, include a few rumors that are floating about, and even a few whispers that have entered our inbox over the last week or so.

New Nexus Q:  We’ve talked a lot about the return of the Nexus Q on various DL Shows, because we all love the idea that it could become something phenomenal. As you all know though, the Nexus Q was announced at I/O last year, then essentially killed off weeks later before it ever shipped to anyone. Google realized it had either half-assed the product or that it really was lacking any sort of real functionality that could justify its steep price. So is it going to return? Sources of ours have led us to believe that it is indeed returning, only this time with an emphasis on gaming. Details are scarce, so we aren’t sure if it’ll take the OUYA approach or be something different altogether. There is also a chance that the hardware changes to be more cube-like, however, I hope that it doesn’t. I personally love the hardware of last year’s Nexus Q.

Google reportedly to release new Nexus 7 as the highlight of Google I/O for the delay of next-gen iPad mini

In the research note obtained by AppleInsider, Kuo notes the new Nexus 7 will feature upgraded specs, such as a high-resolution screen, better cameras and wireless charging, but will maintain an entry-level price of $199. Apple is also rumored to be launching an updated iPad mini sometime in the third quarter, but that timeline is in question as recent reports have said production of the small form factor tablet hit a snag.

Google is likely to lose $5 to $10 per unit sold with the aggressive pricing, suggesting profits will come from media purchases and ad revenue. Kuo sees the distribution model being the same as 2012's version, with Google selling the Nexus 7 through its website, while Asustek and other retail outlets take care of higher-end iterations with more storage.
