Samsung starts Android 4.1.2 Premium Suite update to Galaxy S III in the UK

Slowly rolling out around the world, Samsung has firstly rolled out the Android 4.1.2 update for Samsung Galaxy S III since the UK. The new update will give owners the chance to enjoy Premium Suite features that were first included on the Galaxy Note II. The UK users could now get the OTA update or via Samsung’s KIES software.

With the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update the Galaxy S III users now could have multi-window feature on the Galaxy S 3 to run apps aide-by-side simultaneously. Meanwhile, the update improved the performance of Samsung’s own apps, including Paper Artist, Samsung Gallery and Group Cast. Galaxy S 3 owners will also gain smarter rotation recognition, the ability to tag friends, locations and dates to different pieces of media and files, and Auto Share Shot Pairing – which allows photos to be shared over an NFC ‘bump.’

Samsung has also improved its Best Photo feature to launch ‘Best Face’ which provides a choice of five shots from which users could choose the best face of each person in their shot.

Add in a better low light mode, an updated panorama mode, improved touch response and better media features, the update really extends the usefulness of Samsung’s bestselling Android smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S 3 Gets MultiView and Smart Rotation in Android 4.1.2 Update

Some excellent functions in Samsung Galaxy Note II will arrive on the hot Samsung Galaxy S III with the Android 4.1.2 update. Soon the Galaxy S3 users could enjoy the update. The update would include MultiView and Smart Rotation functions.

Besides the MultiView function that could enable users to run and check two apps simultaneously and the Smart Rotation function, the updates also include customizable notification panel, a new gallery app and the continuous input keyboard. With the Smart Rotation update, the display adjusts to angle of view.

It's unclear how far along Samsung will release the update, though the company may be testing a JZO54K firmware build. Currently, it is rumored that the 4.1.2 update will take place in late December.

Android Jelly Bean update on Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III now available

Previously, I wrote a post about the Jelly Bean update on U.S. Galaxy S III, which suggested that the US Galaxy S III would get Jelly Bean update until 2013. Now, this seems to be unreliable. The latest reports showed that the Sprint version of Samsung Galaxy S 3 has been available for Jelly Bean update now. Sprint is the first U.S. carrier to deliver an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Available starting this morning as an over-the-air update, the handset will benefit from features such as Google Now, enhanced and expanded notifications, and Android Beam.

Samsung has taken steps to enrich the user experience on its end, giving little extra touches to the camera aspect. Once users download the Jelly Bean update they will discover new live filters for still images and video as well as the power to pause and resume while recording.

What's more, the Galaxy S3 will pick up a new Easy Mode that will help new smartphone users learn their way around the handset. Rounding things out, the version 4.1 update adds additional support for accessories with NFC One Touch Pairing for Bluetooth devices and wireless mirroring through AllShare.

Sprint advises that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will automatically download the Jelly Bean update, prompting users once it's ready to install.

Android Jelly Bean update on US Galaxy S III is confirmed to happen until 2013

Ever since its official release, Samsung Galaxy S III has been very popular among the world, even though it only comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The absence of the latest Android Jelly Bean system and its advantages have made people so eagle to get Jelly Bean updates for their Galaxy S III smartphones. By now, the east European users have got the Jelly Bean update on Galaxy S III in late September, while other regions of the world also get Jelly Bean update in September, except users in US. According to Samsung Mobile’s latest official press-release, the Jelly Bean update for the U.S. versions of the Galaxy S III will arrive "in the coming months." It also mentions that the specific time of release for each update will be revealed by each respective carrier.

According to the Examiner reports, Samsung spokesmen have informed that the U.S. versions of the Galaxy S III will be the last to receive a software update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Though the exact reasons have not been specified, there might have something to do with carrier testing processes or the slightly different hardware found in those versions of the phone.

So, what all of this means in this case is that the U.S. versions of the Samsung Galaxy S III may not receive their Android 4.1 updates until 2013! But, if you are an Android user, haven’t you yet been used to waiting for the update of OS for all these years? 

Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update available in east Europe

Since the official release of Samsung Galaxy S III, it’s been months. As the latest flagship of Samsung, Galaxy S III has attracted people’s attention widely. However, it comes with the absence of the Android Jelly Bean OS, which makes it somewhat a little disappointing. Two weeks ago, Samsung has announced Android Jelly Bean update on Galaxy S III worldwide. But still some places and regions have not received the installation package, like east Europe. Now, the good news comes that Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update is available for east European users.

According to the European user feedback information, the update could be available via KIES update with a total size of 282.5 MB. The update would include Google’s latest Project Butter interface and support Google Now.

Poland, Croatia, and Macedonia, Serbia and other east European regions would take the lead to have Android 4.4.1 update. Upon the server stability and response speed, Samsung may start the update in different regions gradually. The current OTA upgrade is not available in UK and other regions. At the same time, British KIES did not provide any new firmware version.
