Top 10 Best Apple iPad Tablet Alternatives to Use

Apple has become quite a trend-setter when it comes to design. First the “iPod” gave birth to a whole new world of portable music players, then the “iPhone” emerged a new generation of mobile phone devices, and recently came the “iPad”, which started turning heads towards touchscreen mobile computing (that already existed).

Although it’s almost guaranteed that the Apple iPad will sell well, there are still many complaints about the lack of various features such as multitasking (which might appear later this year), and the lack of flash support, pen input amongst other things.

It happened with the iPhone and it looks set to happen again with the iPad; consumer electronics manufacturers are rushing to bring out their own touch-screen tablet computers, with the latest being the WePad from German company Neofonie. Here, we round-up some of the most likely ‘iPad killers’!

So wait! The iPad isn’t the only game in town. Sure, it might have a fancy-pants interface, but each of the follow ten tablets win the hardware fight, which is just as important to a lot of consumers. As interesting as the iPad is, no matter what Apple wants us to think it’s by no means the first tablet. What better way to share the tablet love than to give you 10 alternatives to the iPad, which could easily be deemed as serious iPad Killers.

Top smartphone duel – Sony Xperia Z1 vs. iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 is an outstanding device. Even though nearly a year has passed since it got launched, Apple's finest still ranks among the top smartphones out there, loved by millions of owners worldwide. That is why a comparison like this is inevitable – a comparison between the newly-announced Sony Xperia Z1 and the tried and trusty iPhone 5. Can a 12-month-old handset rival an upcoming phone? Well, let's take a look.

Design
In terms of appearance, both smartphones have a lot to impress with. We'd say that the two look and feel equally great, which comes as no surprise since the Sony Xperia Z1 and the iPhone 5 are put together with utmost attention to detail. The premium materials used in their construction only adds to their high-end feel. Sony has chosen to use tempered glass for the Z1's back panel while the iPhone 5 is made of anodized aluminum. What sets these smartphones apart, however, is their size. In all honesty, the Xperia Z1 feels a bit bulky, partially due to its rectangular shape, but at least we know it is waterproof. The iPhone 5, on the other hand, is a lot more compact and perfectly usable with a single hand. It does, however, come with a smaller screen. Speaking of which...

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 render got leaked alongside with first price hints

There’ve been so much rumors and reports on the upcoming third iteration of Samsung's phablet line under the Galaxy Note branding, and even seen a few rectangular prototype mules leaked here and there. Previously, there’ve been reports saying that the Galaxy Note III would be announced in IFA 2013, which is finally proved to be false since the official release of September 25th announced. With so many leaks, the specs of this new device are gradually clear to the public. Now a render arrives, based on those leaked frames and front panels, looking so convincing, that it might as well be a presser.

Note-3-render
Thin, rectangular shape with minimum bezel seems to be in store for us with the Note 3, the render tries to relay, and the S-Pen stylus is retouched a little bit as well, compared to what we have with the Note II, conveying possible added functionalities. What do you think, do the renders look convincing?

Note-3-vs-Note-II
Meanwhile we got the first quote of the alleged Note 3 pricing, courtesy of a Russian electronics retailer, which expects to carry the phablet in the end of September with a price tag of 29 900 rubles, which equates to about 900 USD. Russia is always a very expensive market for these new gadgets, so based on this quote and historical differences between prices in Moscow and other major markets, we'd wager to guess it will land with about 700 USD/EUR starting price elsewhere, which would be in line with last year's Note II introductory.

Previous-Note-3-render
Interestingly, the publication also says that the price of the Galaxy S4 will be slashed after the Note 3 introduction there, which we hope will translate to other markets as well. As for the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, the retailer cites a starting price of 14 990 rubles in Russia, which translates to about $450, and availability of the first batches is scheduled for the beginning of October, meaning an IFA 2013 expo launch just two days from now seems imminent.
