Facebook scheduled to introduce HTC-based Facebook Home Android OS smartphone on April 4th Event

The cooperation between HTC and Facebook to produce another HTC-based Facebook smartphone has been rumored a lot. Previously, there’re reports that said HTC Myst would be the Facebook smartphone, with detailed specs leaked online already. Whether this report is true or not could be seen in the coming days, as Facebook has introduced various medias to take part in an April 4th Android event. Facebook just sent invitations for its Android-related media event (showed in the picture below) on April 4th, which reads “Come See Our New Home on Android.” According to sources, Facebook would call this new Android-related Facebook experience “Facebook Home…”
Facebook smartphone

As reported, Facebook and HTC are selling their phone and OS as a lifestyle brand, not specifically for its hardware or software. Facebook and HTC previously hooked up on the Salsa and Cha-cha devices which frankly flopped. This will be a deeper, forked version of Android rather than a Facebook-ified version of Sense. Of course, the hardware and software for this phone are competitive with the current mobile device landscape.

Smartphone duel – Apple iPhone 5S vs. Samsung Galaxy S IV in phone design, screen display and CPU

Without any question, the upcoming Apple iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S IV would be the top popular smartphones in the world. Also, there’s no need to say what severe battle it would be between these two smartphones. We can predict that both smartphones would feature exciting functions and breakouts when out, though we still have got very few detailed information about the specs of these two phones. In this post, I would like to make a brief comparison between Apple iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S IV. As the detailed specs of both phones are still to be seen, the comparison would only focus on several parts: phone design, screen display and phone CPU.
Apple iPhone 5S vs. Galaxy S IV
Apple iPhone 5S vs. Samsung Galaxy S IV – design
The iPhone 5S has been reportedly most similar to its previous brother, the iPhone 5, with very little changes. The reports go that the iPhone 5S would come with glass front, a 4 inch screen and an aluminum body form the bulk of the design. The Samsung Galaxy S IV would come with some new aesthetic changes in phone design. Though the plastic battery cover and the slim body design would arouse some complaints, the phone would be protected well. The Samsung Galaxy S4 will have a decidedly less curvy facade and this means that it will be able to use more of its space than the previous model.

Apple iPhone 5S vs. Samsung Galaxy S IV – screen display
As usual, the screen trajectory continues with the new Samsung Galaxy S4. This means that the pixel resolution on the new model will be significantly larger and there is a larger screen to boot too. Samsung Galaxy S IV would reportedly sport a 4.99" full HD (1920x1080) Super AMOLED screen display. The screen display is reportedly to be possible flexible which means that the phone will be  tougher. Without doubt, the bigger screen size and the higher number of pixels deliver satisfactory visual effect for people to watch HD movies on Galaxy S IV.

On the other side, Apple is reportedly to feature the IGZO panel technology on the iPhone 5S. The IGZO panel used by Apple will be from the brainworks of Sharp and will help the company achieve better performance at reduced power consumption. The IGZO tech uses a unique screen refresh technique that only refreshes the screen when anything is moving inside it, and the screen does not refresh for static images, thus saving on power. The screen will refresh at a default rate of 60Hz.
Apple iPhone 5S vs. Galaxy S IV

Apple iPhone 5S vs. Samsung Galaxy S IV – CPU
The Samsung Galaxy S IV is reportedly to take 8-core Exynos 5 Octa SoC processor. The catch here is that out of the 8 cores, 4 have their engines running at peak rpm and the remaining cores are designed to work for the more home purpose and silent applications. The extreme four cores comprise of the Cortex-A15s running at 1.8GHz, while the silent cores are Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. This simply means that the S4 guns for efficiency.

For those addicted to the power of their smartphones hitting the roof, and think they will be disappointed with the half hearted fury of the S4’s CPU, the GPU has a surprise for them, and the Mali-T658 will be the GPU. ARM states that this’ll offer 10x the power of the current-gen Mali-400 chipset.

As for the iPhone 5S, the iPhone will potentially have a 2 core CPU and a 4 core GPU. Of course, these numbers don’t amount to much when compared to the double 8 figures of the Samsung Galaxy S4’s CPU/GPU combo. But Apple is all set to introduce a slew of top end games for the iPhone. The competition is not out yet.

Foxconn reportedly to have started the production of Apple 'iPhone 5S' as the current iPhone 5

The rumors and reports about the so-called iPhone 5S, the next Apple iPhone, have been a big hit in the world. Various kinds of bloggers, analysts and sources are reporting the information they have got about the next iPhone. But all these are to be confirmed. Very recently, another report about the next iPhone has been available for all anticipators. That’s the Japanese Apple blog MacOtakara reported that Foxconn is starting to ramp up production of Apple's iPhone 5 successor, by citing a source familiar with the matter.
iPhone 5S
The site noted that because the design of the "iPhone 5S" is substantially the same as the company's existing handset. Thus it is quite convenient to manufacture the two models on the same production lines. In a note to investors in January, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek estimated that production of the next-generation iPhone would begin in March ahead of a launch expected in either June or July. He also predicted that Apple will be launching a second smartphone alongside the 5S, possibly a much-rumored low-cost version targeted at developing markets. This is quite similar to the latest rumor that Apple would release an iPhone 5S with A7 chip and fingerprint security and a cheaperfiberglass model in June.

As rumored, the iPhone 5S will sport A7 Chip, iOS 7 and Super HD Camera, a fingerprint reader, swype keyboard and a 128GB storage as the biggest drive available. There might be 6-8 different color options for the new iPhone 5S. The phone body might be thinner with larger screen of 4.5/5 inches.

Apple to release iPhone 5S in August and new iPad and the next iPad mini in April

According to the latest news from iMore, Apple might release the next iPhone, mostly named iPhone 5S, in this summer, August preferred. Also, right before the official release of iPhone 5S, Apple is preparing an April event to announce its next generation iPad, presumably the iPad 5, and the potentially iPad mini 2. iMore claims these sources are from people who are familiar with Apple’s plans.
The next iPhone and iPad
As reported, the iPhone 5S will likely be a spec upgrade on its predecessor, with improved camera optics and a more advanced processor anticipated. If the rumors are accurate, consumers can expect a better camera housed inside the same design as the iPhone 5 as well as incremental improvements on the goods under the hood.

Apple just launched the iPad 4 and the first iPad Mini last November. If the report turns to be true, Apple has made a very quick turnaround of iPad product line. Though there appeared some leaked pictures of the iPad 5, the iPad 5 detailed specs is still not quite clear. So is the next generation of iPad mini. But what seems unlikely is that Retina will be included in the next gen model.

For more details, stay tuned. I would get more detailed information on the next generation of iPad, iPhone and iPad mini.

Sony to soon release unlocked Xperia ZL for U.S. in black, white and red

During the near past CES 2013, Sony had successfully attracted a great deal of eyes by introducing the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. Since the release event on CES, as the flagship of Sony, Xperia Z has gained great interest around the world. However, the Sony Xperia ZL is no slouch, as long as no water involved.  If you’re longing for an Xperia ZL, you’ve got the good news. Sony has officially added the Sony Xperia ZL to Sony U.S. web site. People could sign up on this page to get when the smartphone is available for ordering. Besides the black and white color options, a red version is also displayed.
Sony Xperia ZL red
Currently, the Xperia ZL has been confirmed to be launching in Russia, Canada, Germany and US. There’s been no detailed information about the Xperia ZL price. But it is believed the Xperia ZL would be mostly priced the same as Xperia Z, which is reportedly to be priced equal to Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Sources indicate the phone will be sim-free and will have LTE antennas available for several bands. The Sony web site lists three colors for the device – red, black and white. The inclusion of the red variant is a nice surprise after that color was shown at an event for South East Asian markets.

A quick look at the Sony Xperia ZL specs:
* 5-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution
* 1.5Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
* Adreno 320 GPU
* 2GB RAM
* 16GB internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 64GB
* 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera
* 2,370 mAh battery

* Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

Sony to release Sony Xperia C670X with a 4.8in 1080p screen and Snapdragon 600?

2013 has been a very productive year for mobile electronic products for Sony. Just on the beginning of 2013, Sony released Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z to celebrate the new year. On the MWC 2013, Sony showed off the Xperia ZL and the Xperia Tablet Z, though no unannounced models. But unannounced models are starting to pile up in the rumor mill, the latest is the Sony Xperia C670X.

The newly rumored models of Sony smartphones could be originated to the models of Sony Xperia series. Recently on some pages there appeared Sony C680X. As we all know, the Xperia ZL model name is the C650X, while the Xperia Z is model named C660X. Thus it is quite normally for people to wondering whether there would be C670X. As for the possibility, such kind of guess is mostly reliable, according to a tipster who told XperiaBlog.net.
Sony Xperia C670X
A rendered frontal image of the Sony Xperia C670X has been leaked online. Still, if it's real, judging by 4.8” diagonal of the screen, we estimate the phone will measure 133.7 x 70.1mm. That’s slightly shorter but wider than the HTC One (137.4 x 68.2 mm). The Sony C670X has no hardware buttons on the front, which accounts for the height difference. The C670X reportedly will have a 4.8” 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 600 chipset with a quad-core Krait 300 CPU at 1.8GHz, a 13MP camera Exmore RS camera and will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Judging from these rumored specs, the C670X sounds like an HTC One competitor.

Another guess about this new smartphone is that will the C670X/C680X duo relate to each other as the Xperia Z / ZL (C650X/C660X)? It’s yet to see in the future for the official details.
